AHMEDABAD, India, March 24, 2025 -- India is a strategic market and innovation hub for Infineon, a global leader in power systems and IoT. With more than 2.500 employees, Infineon India has been driving R&D and innovation for almost over 25 years in the country`s semiconductor ecosystem. Today, Infineon expands its presence in India even further with a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Ahmedabad, located in the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City). The inauguration was presided over by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Patel, and Infineon CEO, Jochen Hanebeck.

The state-of-the-art centre in Ahmedabad marks a significant milestone in Infineon's strategic commitment to innovation and operational excellence in India. It will employ 500 highly skilled engineers and professionals over the next five years, focusing on advanced R&D for semiconductor chip design and product software, as well as Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, and Systems & Application Engineering. This comprehensive setup will further enhance Infineon's ability to deliver world-class semiconductor solutions and drive technological advancements globally. It builds on the success of its already existing Bengaluru centre. With the new capabilities in Ahmedabad, Infineon is now represented at five locations in India.
