The Grand Finale of NLDS ULIP Logixtics Hackathon 2.0, a collaborative effort by NICDC Logistics Data Services Ltd., NITI Ayog - Atal Innovation Mission, and Startup India, showcased how technology and innovation can revolutionize India's logistics sector. The event highlighted the power of cutting-edge solutions in addressing critical challenges and improving the efficiency of India's supply chains.

Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Minister of Commerce and Industry, graced the occasion as theGuest of Honour and presented awards to the winners. In his keynote address, he lauded the participants for their ingenuity and dedication, underlining the critical role of innovation in achieving the vision of "Viksit Bharat 2047." Shri Goyal emphasized the need for more hackathons addressing contemporary challenges in the logistics sector, advocating for green practices such as electric mobility and biofuels. He further stressed the importance of skill development through partnerships between the government, private sector, and academia and highlighted the role of AI, data analytics, and infrastructure innovation in enhancing efficiency and global competitiveness.
NLDS ULIP Logixtics Hackathon 2.0 Paves the Way for Future Innovation
The NLDS ULIP Logixtics Hackathon 2.0 built on the success of the first edition to tackle pressing challenges in the sector, including sustainability, operational efficiency, and digital transformation. Since its official launch on September 24, 2024, the hackathon has garnered widespread participation, with over 4,700 entries, comprising 3,500 students, 250 start-ups, and 800 professionals from across the country.
The event drew participation from some of the country’s top minds, working tirelessly over several weeks to develop cutting-edge solutions using ULIP’s APIs. By enabling access to logistics-related datasets from 38 systems across 11 ministries, ULIP proved to be a game-changer, empowering participants to craft scalable innovations addressing real-world challenges.
To commence the event, Shri Rajat Kumar Saini, CEO & MD, NICDC and Chairman, NLDSL delivered the welcome address who spoke about the efforts it took to make the hackathon a success. He emphasised that the vision of ULIP stems from the government’s efforts to encourage the community to come up with novel solutions.
Grand Finale Welcomes Dignitaries, Showcases Commitment to Logistics The Grand Finale was attended by prominent dignitaries Ms. Himani Pandey, Additional Secretary, DPIIT, Shri Ajay Bhadoo, Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce, Shri Sanjiv, Joint Secretary, DPIIT, Dr. Surender Ahirwar, Joint Secretary, DPIIT, Shri E. Srinivas, Joint Secretory, DPIIT, Shri Santosh Sinha, CMD, Central Warehousing Corporation, Shri Banchha Nidhi Pani, CEO, GIDB, Dr. Manoj Chaudhary, Vice Chancellor, Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, and Col Vinod Shivran, Indian Army. Their presence underscored the government’s commitment to fostering innovation in India’s logistics ecosystem. Participants competed across five main categories: Sustainable Logistics, Data-Driven Optimization of Logistics Operations, Operational Efficiency and Optimization, Tech-Driven Logistics Innovation, and Unified Documentation and Digital Transformation. These themes aligned with India’s vision of leveraging technology to achieve a seamless and efficient supply chain. The winner of the Most Innovative Solution was team Vaahan Blend. As for each of the categories, Team Electra Wheeler took home the prize under the Sustainable Logistics Category, Eseal Store won under Data-Driven Optimization of Logistics Operations. Under Operational Efficiency and Optimization, the CargoFL team emerged victorious. Tech-Driven Logistics Innovation saw Docker Vision emerge as the winner. Last but not the least, team Vishwaas won under the Unified Documentation and Digital Transformation category.
